Project Outline: 4 Bathroom floors and walls and staircase additions
The project
Mr and Mrs Houckham were recommended to us by a previous client of ours. They had a new build house in Surrey Hills and were looking for stone materials to apply to 4 bathroom floors and walls on the first floor. In addition to the bathrooms eh clients were looking for a material to apply to their staircase for treads and risers.
Challenges
Mrs Houckham wanted to use 4 different coloured materials in each of the bathrooms. However, the colour pallet was fairly neutral with the base colour being white, accents of blues, greys and soft pink and earthly brown hues.
The staircase material would need to be chosen based on its hardwearing qualities and pattern simplicity.
Outcome
In each of the bathrooms we were able to select materials that we had in stock. Bianco Carrara, Fior Di Pesco, Palisandro Bluette and Calacutta Oro along with Blanco Zeus for a shower tray in a separate ensuite. The client’s wish to create bathrooms with a calming and restorative feel was achieved by the selection of materials.
The staricase was made from Silestone Yukon quartz, a very durable robust material ideal for high trafficked areas. It’s an off-white colour with a very subtle vein imprint. Perfect for this appliacation.
